HCPC Registered Art Psychotherapist
BAAT Registered Private Practitioner
As well as having a Private Practice, I have been employed by NHS Mental Health Services, Prison and Probation Services, Education Services, various fostering services and for charities.
I continue to offer support to individuals, and groups of people, who have a wide range of difficulties, disabilities or diagnoses. I work with adults, (including older adults), young people and with children.
Much of my work has been with people who have been affected by experiences of loss, through, for instance, bereavement, life transitions and change, illnesses, trauma, or early attachment experiences.
I aim to provide a confidential and supportive therapeutic place in which it can be possible to acknowledge, communicate and explore any thoughts or emotions that may be causing you distress or confusion.
Within a therapy session the creative process in itself can have a soothing, rehabilitative and therapeutic effect on feelings of wellness. Words are not always necessary. Images can be created through the use of art materials, and also through play, words, movement or sound and are not dependant on any artistic skills or knowledge.
My approach to working with clients is influenced by an interest in, and further training in attachment based psychotherapy, mindfulness and mentalization based treatments, play therapy, the links between neuroscience and art therapy, and Jungian Sand Play therapy.
I am available on Wednesdays and Thursdays at The London Art Therapy Centre.
