10 Jun 2023 | In-person Full-day Workshop | The Balancing Act | Making Mobiles
Newton’s Third Law states “for every action in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
You are invited to participate in a dynamic workshop exploring polarities, dualities, shifts, flow and balance. Dualism elicits interpersonal and intrapersonal conflicts, dichotomies, ambivalences and splits. It also offers the potential for unification and resolution. This balancing act can express itself in conceptual, embodied, relational and creative forms.
Creatively, we shall also be making mobiles: an under-used art form as a way to find balance and resolution. Please feel free to bring objects, photos, bits from nature to add to your mobiles.
This CPD day workshop aims to reflect on the field of dualities and balance and how this is expressed with the clients we work with, as well as in ourselves as therapists. We shall look at various models from different belief systems. We shall discuss how to translate the clichés into actions. We shall use art and movement to explore our own sense of balance and explore how to find balance, proportionality and equanimity when there is asymmetry.
