I am delighted to facilitate workshops at the London Art Therapy Centre.

Most of the workshops focus on the materials we use in therapy. They are designed as supportive inner journeys for therapists, counsellors and allied professionals to discover or rediscover the properties, therapeutic and healing potential of the materials we use. In the process of discovery, colleagues experience somatic encounters as we re-member via the engagement of the senses, especially the senses of hearing, sight, sound, touch and balance.

The workshops are quiet and guided. As we listen to the materials, our own bodily responses and to each other, participants develop confidence, encounter a deeper connection to themselves, feel replenished and nourished and realise a renewed sense of wonder, joy and excitement for the possibilities of our work.

In short, I believe that our knowledge and experience with the medium is as important as the theoretical knowledge and experience we have of our modality. The deeper our connection to what is beyond the immediately visible, the more connected and kindly attuned is the potential of our offering to the planet.

In addition to the above, I offer some supervision and brief, focused individual therapy. I also facilitate workshops in Gloucestershire, where I live, and for some of the BAAT regional groups.

Throughout my career, I have mostly worked with people who live on the margins of society; in prisons, on community sentencing programs, with homeless and sex-working women, patients in Acute and Forensic psychiatric care, with people suffering from long-term physical and terminal illness, people in need of palliative care and also with primary school children and their parents. Much of my work has included staff support, supervision and teaching trauma-related aspects of art therapy on training initiatives in the UK and abroad.
