I am a qualified integrative arts psychotherapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the UK Council for Psychotherapy. I am also a medical doctor specialized in neurology, and an accredited practitioner of Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT). I completed my PhD at the Institute of Neurology, at the University College of London. Having always had an interest in psychology, psychotherapy, and the arts, I went on to complete an MA in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education London. I am trained in both talking therapy and art therapy, and completed a foundation course at The Institute of Group Analysis, London. My clinical approach is integrative with a specific interest in psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, Jungian, and attachment theory alongside neuroscience.
A solid therapeutic relationship is key to facilitating the client’s inner strength and healing process. I understand the importance of providing a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space in order to promote a journey of self-discovery through the creative process. I recognise the transformative potential of the creative process: it can aid the expression of feelings that are difficult to verbalize. I have worked in several clinical settings within the National Health Service (NHS), including the specialist personality disorder service, gaining experience working with adults with a variety of psychological difficulties. I have expertise in offering medium and long-term individual and group therapy.
At London Art Therapy Centre I run a Sunday morning monthly art therapy group for people with brain injury.
