Creating and Exploring Masks

Mask ImageThis practical workshop will provide an experiential, creative and enjoyable day exploring the unique qualities of masks. In the morning you will have the opportunity to cast a mask directly onto the face and develop its character through discussion and drawing.
In the second part of the workshop you will begin to animate your mask through a series of gentle drama exercises.

There will be reference to historic uses of mask in ritual and theatre from around the world to give mask work a context. At the end of the workshop there will be a facilitated discussion about the use of mask work in clinical practice.

It was really helpful as a psychiatrist to partake in a creative therapy workshop which helps broaden my horizon and explore alternative ways of helping patients and also be aware of other therapeutic approaches.”  Dr. S. Stanley.
