Private Practitioners Mentoring Programme | 8 sessions | from 25 Oct 2017
The Private Practice Mentoring Programme is designed for arts therapists who are planning to develop private practice alongside their current work schedules. The course is suitable for those considering a move into private practice as it develops and sharpens the skills and clinical focus required when working privately. This course is also suitable for arts therapists who want to develop sessional contracts or work independently. We look at the development of one’s professional identity and the options available in the changing employment climate. The business of art therapy is modeled upon many years’ experience in private practice.
This is a structured small professional group for qualified art therapists which will focus on key themes experienced when starting up and managing a private practice. The themes include private registration, insurance, data protection and the legal framework; building a referral network, assessment and on-going clinical work; practice identity and marketing; finances, fees and accounting; supervision, clinical governance and self-care.
The course will help you to reflect on the resources you may have to draw on to develop your profile as an independent art therapist and private practitioner. This training programme is unique in that it provides support and guidance over a 7 month period. During this time you will be given skills-based, practical and theoretical support to develop your own private and independent practice.
