7 – 8 Sep 2019 | 2-day Introduction to Clay Therapy

This 2-day training offers an experiential introduction to the theory and practice of the use of clay in therapeutic work. By the end of the weekend participants will have gained:

  • Practical resources and ideas for exercises that can be used in therapeutic work.
  • An experiential feel for how it is to work with clay in therapeutic work.
  • Knowledge about how the use of clay is both therapeutic of itself and how it links to some therapeutic and neurobiological principles.
  • Knowledge of what tools and resources are needed to incorporate clay into their therapeutic work.

This workshop is for: psychotherapists and counsellors, qualified or in training, from all modalities; care workers; social workers; TA’s; and anyone who might find it useful in terms of gaining tools for engaging those they work with, in playful and therapeutic activities.

An enjoyment in the arts and willingness to use the clay for experiential work is a must. Previous experience in the use of clay for any purpose it is not required.

Jess Skelton is a ceramic artist, Integrative Arts Psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with additional PTUK accredited Clay Therapy training and 18 years of client experience as a therapist and group facilitator. Alongside her private practice, she runs a small ceramics studio and delivers clay-based workshops.
