24 Feb 2024 | In-person Full-day Workshop | Embodied Imagery | Mark-Making and Movement
Are you curious about the meeting place of mark-making and movement?
Are you interested in learning more about how to bring the body into artmaking?
Would you like to deepen your relationship to the embodied self-conscious?
In this experiential workshop, we will explore the interweaving nature of image, body and movement. We will spend time dropping into the sensations, rhythms and flow of the body. We will work with imagery and visualization to experiment with the many ways in which the imaginal and the embodied are intertwined. And from this place, we will dive into the richness, texture and expressiveness of our own images in order to get a felt sense of our personal embodied imagery world.
This workshop is aimed at professionals and trainees in the creative and/or talking therapies who have a curiousity for exploring embodiment in the process of image making, and the imaginal in the stories of the body.
You are invited to bring along your own painting, drawing, photograph or sculpture (or any other creation). We will be using these images as stepping stones into working with the imaginal body as well as making our own art in situ.
