Deborah Holder
Counsellor and Psychotherapist MBACP
BA (Hons) Psychology, Postgrad Dip Environmental Psychology, Postgrad Dip Counselling and Psychotherapy
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist currently working as a counsellor within the NHS, in education and in private practice. Integrative therapy draws on the three key therapeutic models – humanistic-existential, cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic. Every person is different which is why I believe that the most helpful approach or integration of approaches will be the one that works best for you as an individual and the particular issues you bring to therapy.
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. You may feel stuck, anxious or overwhelmed by emotions. You may be coping with change – the end of a relationship, bereavement, parenthood, the loss of a job or the challenges of a new one.
Whatever brings you to therapy, the counselling room is a safe, confidential space where you can talk about whatever is on your mind at a pace that suits you. It’s a chance to explore where you are now, where you would like to be and how you can work towards getting there.
My role is to help you to explore your feelings and thoughts in a way that promotes insight and self-awareness and to support you as you work towards better clarity and understanding.
I work with adults, young people, couples and groups.
